Cherokee Marsh Wildlife Area

The 81-acre Cherokee Marsh Wildlife Area is a public hunting area located just west of DeForest to the north and south of State Highway 19.  Lands are directly adjacent to Cherokee Marsh Fishery Area owned by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.  A small parking area is located on the north side of STH 19.  Upper reaches of the Yahara River wind through the property which contains a mix of grasslands, wetlands, and riparian areas.  Deer, turkey, and waterfowl are the primary hunting opportunities.
