There are many ways to get involved and help protect and improve Dane County land and water resources.

Dane County Parks

Dane County Parks has a variety of volunteer opportunities, ranging from one-time events listed on our event calendar to more in-depth projects that allow you to develop a deeper connection to the parks and trails you love. 

Each year, thousands of volunteers of all ages participate in a variety of activities. These include native habitat restoration, conducting research, serve as park advocates and public relations representatives, assist with conservation projects and fundraising, promote informational and educational activities, and more.

 

Dane County Watershed Network

The Dane County Watershed Network helps connect the 30+ organizations in the county that are working to protect and improve the quality of our surface waters, preserve and restore natural landscapes, and enhance recreational opportunities. Then network comes together once a year to share their work, collaborative around specific topics, and share resources and idea.  All gatherings are free of charge and are open to the public.
