DANE COUNTY PARKS HOLDS FUNDRASIER FOR FIRST EVER PARKS AND TRAILS UNITE FESTIVAL

OFFERS BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR OF LOWER YAHARA RIVER TRAIL

Dane County Parks, in conjunction with the Friends of Dane County Parks Endowment and United Madison,  is hosting a fundraiser for the first ever 2018 Parks and Trail Unite Festival. Guests will be able to attend a special preview event on September 20, 2017 that will give attendees a behind the scenes look at the new Lower Yahara River Trail. Attendees will learn how the trail was constructed, tour the boardwalk bridge via motorized cart, bike or trolley pub, and get a sneak peak of the 2018 Parks & Trails Unite Festival – the largest event Dane County Parks has ever hosted!

Individuals and businesses that would like to support this Festival can learn more about the trail, festival, and sponsorship opportunities at the September 20 preview event.

The free Parks & Trails Unite Festival, taking place on June 2, 2018, will serve to unite, bridge and lift up our community while also celebrating the connections that our parks and trails provide. The festival will be held in Lake Farm County Park and McDaniel Park in McFarland, now connected by the newly completed Lower Yahara River Trail boardwalk bridge - the perfect place to celebrate connected communities. The festival will include live music, games and activities, demonstrations, food carts, pontoon rides, highlights of local natural and cultural resources, and opportunities to learn from each other and give back to our community.

Funds raised from the Festival and Preview events will not only support the Dane County Parks volunteer program, a critical component in maintaining the county’s more than 15,000 acres of land and 100 miles of trails, but will also support United Madison and local area nonprofits.
